Fight Back Friday October 22nd
Welcome back yet again to another Fight Back Friday! Today we are bringing together another collection of recipes, tips, anecdotes, and testimonies from members of the Real Food Revolution.
Who are they? Why, they’re the Food Renegades. You know who you are — lovers of SOLE (Sustainable, Organic, Local, and Ethical) food, traditional food, primal food, REAL food, the list goes on. I believe that by joining together, our influence can grow, and we can change the way America (and the industrialized world) eats!
For The Love Of Tubers
Dr. Paul Jaminet, PhD shares a post defending tubers. Why, you ask, would tubers need defending? Mostly because of the low-carb phenomenon. Dr. Paul believes that real, nourishing starches are a healthy part of the ancestral diet of most humans. (And, of course, he’s right!)
Crockpot Jambalaya Recipe
Ahhh. Crockpot Jambalaya. Savory, spicy, and earthy, Jambalaya is a soothing comfort food as Autumn approaches. Add in the freedom that crockpot cooking gives, and you can even call this recipe easy, kid-friendly, and time-saving!
This recipe is submitted by AndreAnna of Primal Matriarch. I love AndreAnna’s story of hard-won weight-loss and regained health — all by switching to grain-free, real, primal foods. If you’re looking to make that sort of switch, or if you already have, you should visit her site for a wealth of inspiring, mouth-watering recipes.

War Story From The Local Food Front
Because I am a raw milk drinker, I hear about this sort of scenario all the time. But this time, the scene that unfolded on September 2nd in Charlottesville, VA had nothing to do with raw milk. This story is about eggs. Farm fresh eggs. You didn’t know those were criminal did you?
Turns out, they aren’t.
The Naturally Clean Home
If you’re like me, you’ve been frustrated when you buy many of the natural, non-toxic housecleaning products available at the supermarket. They simply fail to get the dishes clean, or leave streaks in your glass, or only spread carpet stains around instead of actually getting them up. It’s as if some mysterious “they” want us to believe that we either have to use chemicals or live in an unclean home.
I have news for you. It’s not true!
Throw Out The USDA Food Pyramid?
YES! Not only did this month’s journal Nutrition question the validity of the new 2010 USDA dietary guidelines, but the story was picked up by the popular magazine SELF!
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the tide really was turning?

Have You Got A Weston A. Price Smile?
That’s my son Isaac. He’s six years old today. And he’s sporting his Weston A. Price smile. Have you got one? Do your kids? Do you know what one is?
The characteristic Weston A. Price smile is on a wide face with high cheekbones, the dental arch is wide with plenty of room for all the teeth to grow, and the teeth are straight, perfect and clean. It’s THE sign of good nutrition. How do I know that, you ask?
