I have always wanted to go to Alaska. When I lived in Oregon, I met a number of Alaskan natives who would say things like “Alaska is Oregon on steroids.”
Considering how gorgeous my part of southern Oregon was, I could only respond with awe. My imagination had a hard time picturing the Alaskan wilderness.
It still does.
Next July, I’ll be going to Alaska. And I’ll be taking one of you lucky readers (and a guest of your choosing) with me.
Just look at all the fun last year’s winner had!
Support My Favorite Non-Profit, Win a Trip
These days, our farmers face a growing threat. It’s not drought or colony collapse disorder, either.
It’s our government. The very government created to protect their liberty is instead launching lengthy undercover investigations into their practices, raiding family homes at gunpoint in the early morning hours, and passing financially impossible legislation that doesn’t scale down to small, artisanal producers.
Who will defend our farmers?
Who will fight their legal battles in court? Make persuasive arguments for their constitutional rights? Give counsel when overly zealous government enforcers want to take liberties with warrants and court orders?
The Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund, that’s who.
The men and women at The Fund are heroes.
They are on the front-lines of the fight to protect the rights of small producers and the consumers who want to support them.
All proceeds from the Alaska raffle will go to the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund.
This is a cause I support 100%. And if you also value your right to buy the foods of your choice from the farmers of your choice, then it’s a cause you support, too.
What Kind of Alaskan Adventure?
The trip for two includes round-trip airfare from the continental U.S., lodging for 6 days and 5 nights, stops in scenic Seldovia and Homer, plus an all day fishing expedition.
The best part?
It’s an entirely flexible trip, built around your schedule and desires.
Here’s what last year’s winner, Barbara G. had to say:
One of the things that was so cool with winning this raffle as opposed to other trips that are normally raffled at other events is we were able to choose when we wanted to go. The dates were not set!
And we got to choose the dates of our flights and what nights we would be staying in Homer as well as Seldovia so we were able to extend our trip beyond just what what we won. Obviously any expenses associated with extending our trip were our responsibility but we were able to travel to other places in Alaska and not be locked in to predetermined dates.
Our trip to Alaska was truly more spectacular than I could have ever imagined! The scenery was absolutely stunning and the fresh seafood was amazing! I feel very blessed to have experienced this must see place and now that I have had a taste of Alaska I hope to someday go back!

Now for the easy part.
You just need to buy raffle tickets. The proceeds from the raffle go to the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund, so even if you don’t win you can know your money is going to an excellent cause.

If you take me, I will provide mosquito spray!
Why spray them mosquitoes are edible.
Yeongyi — I would *LOVE* to take you. The way to rig it is to buy the most raffle tickets, LOL.
Why does it say that residents of NY, RI & FL are not eligible?
Because it’s easier to exclude residents of those states than it is to comply with those state’s lottery laws.
Sorry. 🙁 Maybe have a friend in another state buy your tickets?
