  11. Harriet Soriano says

These look absolutely perfect, so versatile and cast iron is a wonderfully healthy way to cook anything even over a camp fire! They work well on gas and electric stoves as well. If I win they go to my daughter who has started her own collection and these would be a great addition for her. She has some of my grandmothers pans! :-)Thank you for offering this chance to win these beautiful pans:-)

  12. Terisa says

I love cooking with cast iron. Its great to use both inside in my kitchen and outside camping. I recently started volunteering at Renaissance Faires. Volunteering is great way to get free tickets to events. So much fun and the troupe I’m with often cooks afterwards at campsites but sometimes I can’t eat any of it because I can’t have gluten wheat ect. so I really need new pans so I can cook my own yummy gluten free healthy food. This cast iron cook set would be just perfect so many things. I love that it doubles as a dutch oven. I hope I win.

  13. Krista says

    Hi Kristen,
I am already a subscriber but man! do I want to win the skillet set. Hopefully my entry went through even though I did not subscribe a second time. I loved your article on agave nectar and was wondering if you’ve found anything about coconut sugar. Or if you know where I should look. Who tests sugars? I am curious about why it is low glycemic. I’ve developed a deep and abiding habit and need to know before it’s too late! Thanks for the blog. Great info! c. ;)

  16. Frank says

I love cooking with cast iron cookware. It’s what helped keep my iron levels acceptable when I was ill. BUT… The new PRE-seasoned cookware is seasoned with gmo-soy oil. I spoke with the company’s rep who did verify this for me. She didn’t think it a problem, obviously. My question now is how to destroy that coating? Do yourself a favor and buy it used and season it yourself.

    • says

Frank, you destroy it by cooking with it. Every time you cook in cast iron, you’re re-seasoning it with whatever fats you’re using to cook. So long as you’re cooking with quality fats, you’re set.

  17. MiMi says

I can’t figure out how to enter this contest. The place where I click on takes me to a skillet on Amazon.com. Can someone guide me. New here today.

    • says

Hi Mimi. Clicking on the link is the first entry. Next, you need to follow the directions after #2 above and sign up for my newsletter. Then, you need to follow the directions after #3 above to verify your entries so that I can count them.

  18. Marla says

I have been using cast iron for about 10 years and love it. If you treat it right and keep it seasoned it is the best for cooking anything.

  19. Laura says

Cast iron is my favorite way to cook. My best 12 inch skillet came from and estate sale.Very well seasoned!

  20. Jenn Crawford says

This would be awesome to add to my cast iron collection. The only pans we use are Lodge Cast Iron. They make a wonderful product!

  21. Sheila Bragg says

I’ve never owned a set of cast iron cookware. My mom used to cook fried okra in it. That’s all I remember about it. :-) I would love a set and even if I don’t win, at least I know where to find a good seasoned combo. Thanks for the link!

  22. says

i would cook everything in cast iron if i could… LOL… I *need* this dutch oven…. I had a friend who had one a long time ago and i was so in lust with it it’s not even funny… Ooh to have my own!

  23. says

Oooooh, I’d love to win this! Like a dunce, I gave away all my cast iron cookware several years ago when arthritis pain kept me from lifting it. Went off sugar last year and now the arthritis pain is MUCH reduced. Only have one piece of cast iron again, a Lodge wedge cornbread pan, but would LOVE to build back up with this set! It’s beautiful!
