I would LOVE to win this!
I would love to win the vita-mix! My father was diagnosed with carcinoid syndrome that spread to his liver. since then we have been eating a lot of organic food. This type of cancer secretes serotonin through his body, which causes him to lose what he eats several times a day. I am afraid he loses the benefits from his food. Juicing would be beneficial.

I never win anything either but here’s hoping my luck might change. I have something called gastroparesis (my stomach is paralyzed due to an injured nerve, it can’t do its churning-and-pushing-out-to-small-intestine duties properly and so often sends its contents back up) so my food frequently has to be entirely liquid for it to leave my stomach by gravity alone. I could do so much more with a Vitamix than I can with my cheapo blender!
Robert Myers – yes, it’s free, and jumping through all the hoops like going to amazon.com is just part of the routine for entering the giveaway. Other bloggers may not pay as much attention to the law because their blogs aren’t their livelihood, or because they’re just not aware of the law yet.
This is also why I’m not an affiliate for food products. According to the FDA, you can’t make health claims about the food/herbs/products you sell. And according to the FTC, affiliates are employed sales people of the companies they’re selling for through their affiliate relationship. (They actually shut down Wilderness Family Natural’s affiliate program a few years ago for just this thing.)
So, if I wanted to be an affiliate of a food company (like Cultures for Health or U.S. Wellness Meats), I’d have to remove all health claims from my site. Obviously, I don’t want to do that. I want to be free to write a post that says “Coconut oil can help your child’s eczema.” So, to ensure my freedom to continue making health claims about foods, and to ensure that the product’s I’m endorsing don’t bear financial liability for those claims, I can’t be their affiliate.
And as before, there are plenty of bloggers out there breaking these rules. But the FTC has gone after some of them, and the FDA has gone after bigger affiliate-based companies like Wilderness Family Naturals. So, I’d rather play it safe and have advertisers/sponsors instead.
Anyhow, all this is to say: there are reasons!

I’ve been putting off buying one just because the price is a little out of my budget but it would be so amazing to WIN one! I love making my own gluten free flour with coconut and oats, I would love to try making some healthy ice cream or soaps in the Vitamix!

i just want to say that your blog was the first cog in the wheel in my journey to clean eating. i don’t remember how i stumbled upon it, but i do remember it was my first glimpse into looking at nutrition a different way, analyzing my choices for myself and my kids. i also remember telling my father about it and him telling me that these were all things his grandmother did and made back in the old country in crimea when he was growing up in the 20’s and 30’s. these discussions prompted him to start fermenting and also eliminating processed foods out of his diet. at 88 years old, he completely changed his eating habits. he now makes sauerkraut and yogurt regularly, as i do as well.

This would be a blessing should you chose myself. I have several severe chronic pain syndromes that I have been fighting for the last seven years. The Interstitial Cystitis(IC) is the only disorders that doctors, researchers,and scientist all agree the pain is comparable and or worst than patients with cancer and our quality of life is lower than those in end-stage renal failure. All the doctors I have seen has informed me I am the worst IC, fibromyalgia, widespread pain syndrome, etc… to name a few, chronic pain patient they have seen during their practice.
To be able to make anti-inflammatory drinks and make a quick meal during the time I am alone is a necessity.
