Fight Back Friday May 18th

Welcome to another Fight Back Friday! Today we are bringing together another collection of recipes, tips, anecdotes, and testimonies from members of the Real Food Revolution.

Who are they? Why, they’re the Food Renegades. You know who you are — lovers of SOLE (Sustainable, Organic, Local, and Ethical) food, traditional food, primal food, REAL food, the list goes on. I believe that by joining together, our influence can grow, and we can change the way America (and the industrialized world) eats!

So, let’s have some fun.

    Hi! This week I posted on stinging nettles, including a recipe for nettle paté. I also posted on why we need to label Genetically Modified foods, which most people don’t know make up 70% of all foods on grocery store shelves and have never been tested for safety.

    California is poised to become the first state in the nation to require labeling of GMO foods, and WE REALLY NEED HELP to beat Monsanto. If the labeling initiative passes in CA, the rest of the nation will follow.

    This week I am sharing three recipes:

    (1) Three white bean dip recipes: plain, kalamata olive, and spinach (vegan , dairy free, soy free)

    (2) A strawberry, cantaloupe, and ginger green smoothie (no added sugar, vegan, SCD).

    (3) Homemade caramel chocolate chews (vegan, grain free, low glycemic) – again inspired by your chocolate recipe!!

    In anticipation of Summer I kind of jumped the gun a little bit and hopped on the strawberry train. Choo Choo!

    This week I’ve posted an homage to a 1980’s Sweet Treat. In that cheesy 1980’s seduce-your-flight-instructor-to-the-tune-of-Take My Breath Away kind of way. Read: Dark chocolate covered strawberries with pistachios. Oh yeah.

    I’m also sharing my sad tale of how I lost some of my jars with a great tip so that you don’t have the same problem.

      I woud love pics like that! I am doing well. I am not having a hard time tracikng, and feel like I have more energy. One bad habit that has come back since the last WW go is Diet Cola I was addicted, and now I feel myself getting back into it. I don’t love the fact that it will probably give me cancer, but oh well, it’s 0 pts Other than that, on thursday I weighed myself and I had lost 3 lbs. I am not sure if that was just fluctuation so I am not going to actually weigh myself again until Monday morning. Over all, I think it’s going well.
