Fight Back Friday July 2nd

Welcome back to yet another Fight Back Friday! Today we are bringing together another collection of recipes, tips, anecdotes, and testimonies from members of the Real Food Revolution.

Who are they? Why, they’re the Food Renegades. You know who you are — lovers of SOLE (Sustainable, Organic, Local, and Ethical) food, traditional food, primal food, REAL food, the list goes on. I believe that by joining together, our influence can grow, and we can change the way America (and the industrialized world) eats!

So, let’s have some fun.

If you want to participate but aren’t sure how, please read these guidelines for how Fight Back Fridays will work.

Please be courteous and use your BEST blog carnival manners! In the very least, that means remember the two most important things you can do:

  1. Share a relevant post from your blog with us using the McLinky Widget below (don’t just link to your blog’s home page).
  2. In your post, be sure to link back to this post (not the Food Renegade home page) so that your readers can have access to all the information and encouragement we’ll be sharing.

Please also feel free to make use of any of the banners below by saving the image to your desktop then uploading it to your own server. (You don’t have to use them, but they’re there for you!)

If you don’t have a blog but are interested in joining the conversation, you can leave your comments below!

Today, I’m sharing two posts! The first is a round up of Yummy Real Food Recipes For July 4th. In the second, I ask Am I an Orthorexic? and share an Orthorexia Quiz. Why not take the quiz and find out if you can join the club?

Fight Back Friday Banners

PLEASE NOTE: The smaller banners are also available as badges/buttons for your sites over on my sidebar so that you can sport your Real Food Lovin’ Pride and inspire others to join us in the Real Food Revolution. Just copy the code and paste it into your sidebar. (Again, you don’t have to use them to participate in the carnival.)

Sharing Is Rebellious! ENJOY.

I am a passionate advocate for REAL FOOD -- food that's sustainable, organic, local, and traditionally-prepared according to the wisdom of our ancestors. I'm also an author and a nutrition educator. I enjoy playing in the rain, a good bottle of Caol Ila scotch, curling up with a page-turning book, sunbathing on my hammock, and watching my three children explore their world.

In “Twinkies, Petroleum and Foreign Food” I talk about a book I’ve just read (Twinkie, Deconstructed) and some disturbing things I learned from it.

The early bird gets the worm, but the early Fight Back Friday poster just gets red itchy eyes for staying up too late. :)

I finally have a new post to share (I’ve been so bad about writing new posts lately) and just in time for the summer heat wave I made up a new recipe using some organic Chai tea and a special real food ingredient…

I’m posting this week about how mood-boosting soil bacteria is just one more good reason for kids to get up close and personal with their food.

Also, for anyone who’d previously seen my posts about children’s menus, I’ve now posted a follow-up where the chef I mentioned weighs in on reader ideas. Good stuff, if you’d like to check that out, too: http://spoonfedblog.net/2010/07/02/creating-a-better-childrens-menu-a-chef-speaks/

I’m on a salad kick – and I’m venturing into new taste terrirory (in my own cooking, anyway!) with an Asian Pasta and Veggie Salad. It’s yummy – and would be *fabulous* with loads of fresh from your garden veggies in it! Now – if only it would ever be summer here so that my garden were producing said veggies!!!

I also have a post up today about defending my choice to eat primal and how hard it is in a conventional wisdom word.
