One of the biggest requests I get is for more breakfast options, especially for people on the go who don’t have the option to cook breakfast every morning. These “cupcakes” are perfect to make on the weekend and grab one or two (or three) each morning.
3 Reasons I Love Teaching Kids About Real Food
Teaching is fun — particularly when I’m teaching a subject I’m passionate about. I love creating a lesson, digging up resources to share with students, and thinking up questions to help foster discussion. I even love the often tedious work of making videos and editing audio files. But the real reason I love teaching kids…
Would You Eat This?
Last winter, someone driving by my friend’s house in Alaska hit a moose. The car was totaled. The moose, dead, but in good shape. My friend and her family petitioned the local law enforcement to allow them to butcher the moose and eat it. They spent the next couple of days working hard at home processing the meat. No need to hunt that year.

Fight Back Friday January 7th
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! I’ve been in the middle of a move for the past week and have not had the internet except in borrowed fits and and spurts. You all have been very patient with my lack of posting and replies to emails! Welcome back yet again to another Fight…
Caffeine Free Party
Each Monday in the month of January, I’ll be hosting a link party of posts relevant to going caffeine-free. Are you giving up all caffeine, including coffee, teas, sodas, and chocolate? Maybe you’re just trying to go from regular coffee to water-processed decaf (regular decaf is unfortunately processed with nasty chemicals). Or perhaps you already gave up caffeine ages ago, but have a relevant post that may help others follow in your footsteps. Anything related to giving up caffeine is relevant — whether it’s about the health dangers of caffeinated beverages and foods or simply a progress report about your personal journey.
If you don’t have a blog, but are participating in the Caffeine Free Challenge this month, please leave a comment below sharing your progress. It’s DAY THREE. How are you doing?
This is our chance to encourage each other along the way.
DAY 1: Caffeine Free Challenge
I don’t have a caffeine addiction. At least, I don’t think I do. I know; I’d be a terrible 12-stepper. I say this because any time I’ve given up coffee in the past, I’ve had none of the typical withdrawal symptoms. No headaches. No irritability. No lethargy. What I miss is the flavor. At least that’s what I tell myself.
