It seems absurd. Yet thanks to the regulations set forth by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, any food that makes a non-FDA approved health claim is advertising itself as a drug, not a food. Of course, if the food is actually a drug, then it suddenly becomes subject to all the laws, testing, and requirements of regulated drugs. Translation: foods as benign as walnuts are suddenly regulated like illegal drugs.
Those Pesky Amish Criminals
So what brought armed members from three separate government agencies to raid the Pennsylvania farm of Amish farmer Dan Allgyer in the pre-dawn last month? What had them doing a year-long undercover investigative operation to gather incriminating evidence? Is he a subversive supplier of arms or drugs to the seedy criminal underbelly of Washington D.C.? Nah. He’s just a farmer selling his milk. Selling it in it’s — GASP! — raw, unpasteurized form.
FDA Attacks Raw Milk
The FDA actually spent your tax dollars to create THIS — a poster they’re asking you to share with your friends and family about the dangers of raw milk. The absolute riskiest food in America to eat is LEAFY GREENS! Yet no one, not even the FDA, is saying that eating leafy greens is “playing Russian Roulette with your health.” No one is pushing for the sale of leafy greens to be illegal. And no one is using your tax dollars to create anti- leafy green vegetable posters.
Save A Family Farm In Just 10 Minutes
Imagine this. You’re a farmer. You home school your many children and keep to a peaceful country life. You specialize in making the highest quality raw milk cheese from grass-fed cows. Every morning you walk out into a gray morning and watch the sunrise over the swaying fields of lush, green grasses while you go about your daily farm chores. You don’t own a gun. You’ve never even fired one. You are a law-abiding person, and you’ve never so much as gotten a parking ticket.
FDA Admits BPA Dangers But Can’t Regulate It
My oh my. Things like this make you wonder what our federal regulatory bodies are actually good for. This Friday, the FDA reversed their decision that Bisephenol-A (BPA) is safe. However, because the chemical is classified as an “indirect food additive” in the “generally recognized as safe” category, the FDA says they are powerless to regulate it!
Ah, don’t you just know the food industry is loving that little loophole right about now?
Tantalizing Tid Bits on Real Food

The Cause of the Dairy Crisis — Fake Food
It’s been in all the papers, on all the major media network news: The U.S. dairy industry is in trouble. Farmers are pouring milk down drains and slaughtering their cows for beef. Why? Ostensibly, it’s because a surplus of milk has prices at an all time low. But why is the demand for milk fallen off a cliff? Is it really that the average consumer is buying less of it? Nope. Turns out it’s because of a new fake food hitting the market: milk protein concentrates (MPCs).

Food Scare Of The Week
I’m sick of hearing about peanut recalls. Aren’t you? Well, it turns out that nothing in this bright world of ours is safe from contamination — not even potatoes. The culprit? A wiley little bacteria called listeria. You know, the same pathogen they use to frighten us into cooking all our food. Everything must be cooked, say the food scientists. Nothing consumed raw. No raw milk. No raw vegetables. No soft cheeses. No sushi or smoked salmon.
Another killer reason to avoid packaged foods
Mercury is a neurological toxin. It’s not safe in any quantities. And a study published yesterday in the scientific journal, Environmental Health, found that mercury is present in 50% of commercially available High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) thanks to a production method that involves using mercury-contaminated caustic soda to separate the corn starch from the kernel.
