Hi all. Sorry for the delay in getting this post up! I *think* I worked out the technical kinks that made it fail to post. Baby Alina Mae and I are doing well, adjusting to each others’ nursing quirks, and getting plenty of quality rest. Thank you all for your warm thoughts and congratulations.
Welcome back yet again to another Fight Back Friday! Today we are bringing together another collection of recipes, tips, anecdotes, and testimonies from members of the Real Food Revolution.
Who are they? Why, they’re the Food Renegades. You know who you are — lovers of SOLE (Sustainable, Organic, Local, and Ethical) food, traditional food, primal food, REAL food, the list goes on. I believe that by joining together, our influence can grow, and we can change the way America (and the industrialized world) eats!
So, let’s have some fun.
If you want to participate but aren’t sure how, please read these guidelines for how Fight Back Fridays will work.
Please be courteous and use your BEST blog carnival manners! In the very least, that means remember the two most important things you can do:
- Share a relevant post from your blog with us using the McLinky Widget below (don’t just link to your blog’s home page).
- In your post, be sure to link back to this post (not the Food Renegade home page) so that your readers can have access to all the information and encouragement we’ll be sharing.
Please also feel free to make use of any of the banners below by saving the image to your desktop then uploading it to your own server. (You don’t have to use them, but they’re there for you!)
If you don’t have a blog but are interested in joining the conversation, you can leave your comments below!
Fight Back Friday Banners
PLEASE NOTE: The smaller banners are also available as badges/buttons for your sites over on my sidebar so that you can sport your Real Food Lovin’ Pride and inspire others to join us in the Real Food Revolution. Just copy the code and paste it into your sidebar. (Again, you don’t have to use them to participate in the carnival.)

I just posted a recipe for an easy DIY wine that can be made from just about any fresh fruit. I LOVE making wine cause I like to drink and cook with it but also because it gives me something to do with all those wild blackberries that come in the first of July.

Leah our almost 14 year old daughter decided to take a recipe and change it out to her liking,. She did it again, it was amazing. She is definitely an apprentice chef in training. These power bars are delicious! She’s making another batch for papa when he comes home tonight.

Hi Kristen! Hope all is well with the baby! I did enjoy your post about fast food and its evil clutches getting into kids. Mine knew at a young age the term “marketing ploy” which meant something like the boogie man to them! LOL
My link today is about sharing the real food love through service to others. I have joined a great group called Meals of Love and we prepare meals for families who have members going through cancer treatment. It is a profoundly moving experience.
Thanks again for sharing your lovely space with us! Hugs! Alex

Posted an ayurvedic recipe this week. Meanwhile I need some advice about pressure canners. I’m scared to death of the things but really want to get over that. Can any of you recommend a good brand / model?

Spurred by a rather silly question that regularly leads people to my blog: Can you get fat eating vegetables (or variations thereon), I set out to answer it: http://sacredappetite.wordpress.com/2009/06/18/how-to-get-fat-eating-vegetables/
I found some interesting information about why its hard to overeat if you’re only eating what’s good for you, and why it’s so easy to overeat junk food.

My post this week is about why the Weston A. Price Foundation’s Healthy 4 Life Dietary Guidelines are so much better than those proposed by the USDA.

This week I’m sharing another installment in my series on children’s menus. The Daily Beast just ranked the 25 worst kids’ menu meals in America. But are there any good meals on kids’ menus? Let’s find out: Send me the children’s menus you see. Will they make the Hall of Shame? Or the Hall of Fame?
