Welcome to another Fight Back Friday! Today we are bringing together another collection of recipes, tips, anecdotes, and testimonies from members of the Real Food Revolution.
Who are they? Why, they’re the Food Renegades. You know who you are — lovers of SOLE (Sustainable, Organic, Local, and Ethical) food, traditional food, primal food, REAL food, the list goes on. I believe that by joining together, our influence can grow, and we can change the way America (and the industrialized world) eats!
So, let’s have some fun.
If you want to participate but aren’t sure how, please read these guidelines for how Fight Back Fridays will work.
Please be courteous and use your BEST blog carnival manners! In the very least, that means remember the two most important things you can do:
- Share a relevant post from your blog with us using the McLinky Widget below (don’t just link to your blog’s home page).
- In your post, be sure to link back to this post (not the Food Renegade home page) so that your readers can have access to all the information and encouragement we’ll be sharing.
Please also feel free to make use of any of the banners below by saving the image to your desktop then uploading it to your own server. (You don’t have to use them, but they’re there for you!)
If you don’t have a blog but are interested in joining the conversation, you can leave your comments below!
I can’t wait to see what you all share!

Thanks for hosting! My post this week was inspired by my delicious first barbecue of the season. It’s about the joys and advantages of traditional barbecue, humankind’s first cooking method, the way the cavemen cooked.

Hi and thank you for hosting!
Sorry about the link mistake – I guess I shouldn’t try to do this while nursing a toddler. Oops.
This week I’m sharing how to make hummus like an Arab-silky smooth, creamy and lemony. You won’t want to miss that one!

I’m also sharing an evening blessing for your kitchen, a few simple words to exhale at the end of a day as a way of bringing peace into your real food kitchen.

Finally, I’m sharing some information on some ancient herbs – sumac – the dried berries from the sumac plant and za’atar- which is wild thyme, and also the biblical plant hyssop – and some wonderful medicinal and recipe uses.

If it’s only just a little tiny bit of “bad,” then does it really matter? Why should someone else be allowed to make that decision for us? I shared a Q&A style post on why we should care about what’s in our food, regardless if the bad stuff is labeled as “dietarily insignificant” by the FDA. Thanks for hosting!!

Today I’m sharing my Pumpkin Pie Muffinettes–they look like cookies, but taste like muffins. And they’re grain-free, sweetener-free, and so delicious (especially with some butter)!

Thanks for hosting. This week I linked up to a topic I feel passionate about. When we have health we often feel betrayed by our bodies, and conventional medicine definitely promotes this view. I offer an alternative perspective, that our bodies need our love, in order to heal: http://www.phoenixhelix.com/2013/04/14/my-body-is-not-my-enemy/

Typo…I meant to say “health problems”.

I know we all love butter and we all love cultured foods around here. Why not make some cultured butter!?! It’s easier than you might think!

This is an amazing website! The information is invaluable. I know that gmo foods are horrible. I still can’t believe that aspartame is being considered for baby food and in milk! We need to educate ourselves and get back to natural basics. Thanks for all your work. I liked you on Face Book too! Awesome!
