It’s really no joke, this gluten-free macaroni salad is by far my FAVORITE macaroni salad in the world. Nothing ever compares to this for me; every so often throughout the year I whip up a batch and it literally makes my mouth water. I hosted a baby shower this weekend and I made this macaroni salad for it. Needless-to-say, it was a hit!
Golden Beet Borscht
There are many variations of borscht… some have cabbage, some meat, but nearly all have beautiful red beets. Until now.
Mango Guacamole
Whoever thought to cut open an avocado and a smash it into a dip was a genius. It’s creamy, cool, and tastes so good once it hits the lips! However, I will do you one better…I added fruit to it, creating a flavor component that is out of this world.
Grilled Halloumi & Chicken Kebobs
Nothing beats some simple grilled skewers on a sunny summer day. These skewers have a unique little twist though… they have cheese. Yep, cheese. If you’ve never had halloumi, you’re in for a real treat… Halloumi is a cheese originally from the Cyprus area, though now is popular all throughout the Middle East. It’s a…
Which Famous Sustainable Foodie Should Be Your Love Slave? (In the kitchen!!)
You know you want to know! I’ve got a confession to make. I think it’s really sexy when my husband does the dishes. I also get excited when I find someone who’s as passionately devoted to Real Food as I am. I also like to have fun. That’s why I created this quiz.
Coconut Sugar is Sustainable
Coconut sugar, also called coconut palm sugar, palm sugar, and coconut crystals/nectar is rapidly becoming a popular natural sweetener in households across the US. But is it sustainable?

Win A Trip to Colorado With Me ($2600 Value)
If you could spend two minutes of your life to do something to make it easier for you to support your local farmers, would you? If you could donate money to a well-managed fund that helps provide small farmers with the legal counsel they need to respond to overzealous government regulators, would you? I would. And I do. My absolute favorite non-profit to support is the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund. And because I wholeheartedly support their cause, I am co-sponsoring a fundraiser for the Fund from now to December 16th. It’s a raffle. The prize? An all-expenses paid trip for you to attend Chef Monica Corrado’s cooking school with me at Sunrise Ranch, CO this coming February.
3 Ways to Practice Radical Kindness When Dining Out
“You can never be too kind, too gentle.” I cling to these words like a prayer. They were first spoken by St. Seraphim of Sarov, and they’ve never failed to humble me. First let me dispel a common misconception. Kindness is not niceness; it is not being polite. Rather, it is a radical generosity of spirit that doesn’t condemn, but seeks instead to know and be known. With that in mind, I’ve become increasingly aware that the way to transform the world is through kindness. Likewise, the way to transform the food system is through kindness as well. What do I mean by that? How do I practice radical kindness? While the practice of kindness should permeate all facets of our lives, today I am sharing three examples of how I practice radical kindness while dining out.
