You’ve seen the research, including the study from Princeton that found high-fructose corn syrup caused significantly higher obesity rates in lab animals compared to table sugar — even when the amount of calories from table sugar exceeded the calories from corn syrup. You aren’t confused about what you know.
But the Corn Refiners Association thinks you are confused — so confused, in fact, by the name “high-fructose corn syrup” that they actually petitioned the FDA this week to start calling the ingredient “corn sugar.”
