Hello World

Please join me in welcoming baby Alina Mae into the world! She was born yesterday, July 14th, at 4:10pm at home with a beloved midwife, friendly doula, and grandmother in attendance.

The birth went smoothly, naturally, and without a hitch. Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers as we geared up for the big day, and thank you too for your patience at the light posting recently. I’m sure you understand. My plans for the next week include sleeping as often as I’m able, nursing Alina, eating good food, and letting others wait on me hand and foot as much as possible!

May you be as blessed as I am, fellow Food Renegades. :)

Tears in my eyes. When I saw the link on the RFM widget, I thought, Oh, no, someone messed up their blog and accidentally posted a Hello, World post… and then I saw beautiful Alina Mae.

    What a perfect Texas name.

    Mazel tov!

Congratulations – I’d been wondering about you! Because I knew we were both at roughly the same places in our pregnancy…. my little Peanut is due this Sunday, but I’m getting sooo impatient! Best of luck to your family, and here’s to some contented recuperation!!

My first was in a birthing center with midwives, my second at home. I agree – it is a blessed way to receive a new life!

Welcome to the world, Alina! You’ve got an outstanding Mommy – one who’s willing to have you safely at home, nourish herself, and nourish you properly. You are blessed!

Congratulations and God bless you all! She is lovely. Alina is my milkmaid’s baby’s name and Mae is my baby girl’s middle name. I hope you rest and eat well.
