It's all about Popcorn this week. My teenagers go through alarming quantities of the stuff, and I think we've finally found a popper that makes us ALL happy - and relatively chemical free! Woo Hoo!

Just wanted to say I'm a homeschooling mom too (we also use use a living book approach) and think it is VERY COOL that you have put this together. Unfortunately, my kids are a bit younger (lower and upper grammar) in your experience do you think younger kids would benefit from the book? I'm sort of thinking at this level we are better off taking a hands on approach visiting our CSA, shopping together, ect. What has your experience been teaching younger kids?

I shared a recipe for a Strawberry Goat Cheese Tart that was easily one of the best and easiest desserts I've ever made. I used farmer's market strawberries and local goat cheese and it was amazing, even with store-bought cookies. (Hey, I didn't want to turn on the oven!)

I've always wanted to try Scotch Eggs, a U.K. tradition that's usually deep-fried. The recipe I'm sharing today is my healthier version -- no bread crumbs, baked not fried, still really delicious. I also snuck in some history and references to great books. Enjoy!

This week I am sharing a blog post that surrounds an article I found in the newspaper about farmers who grow over 40 greens in a greenhouse. They claim this is better than organic... I currently agree but would love your input! I encourage you to leave a comment so people can learn more about greenhouses and organic growing. Thanks!

I posted about my frustration at having to explain organic nuances to my daughter, and the knee-jerk anti-organic reaction every time a new pesticide study is released (as it was this week).
